Resultaten Corbion eerste halfjaar 2020

Corbion boekte een omzet van € 492,2 miljoen in het eerste halfjaar van 2020, een toename van 4,3% als gevolg van autonome omzetgroei (4,0%) en positieve valuta-effecten. De autonome groei van de netto-omzet bij de kernactiviteiten was 5,3%. De aangepaste EBITDA nam autonoom toe met 16,9% tot € 83,8 miljoen dankzij verbeteringen in alle bedrijfssegmenten.
“De Covid-19-pandemie had een enorme impact in het eerste halfjaar van 2020. Ik ben daarom bijzonder trots op de toewijding en uitmuntende werkuitvoering van onze teams en de dankzij hen gerealiseerde omzet- en winstgroei in het eerste halfjaar, terwijl al onze fabrieken ondanks een onzekere en uitdagende tijd in bedrijf bleven. Onze prioriteiten waren en zijn nog steeds duidelijk: bescherming van de gezondheid en veiligheid van onze mensen, het ondersteunen van de bedrijfscontinuïteit voor onze klanten en de implementatie van onze in maart geïntroduceerde strategie Advance 2025. Bij Sustainable Food Solutions zagen we in maart dat onze klanten behalve hun voorraadniveaus verhoogden ook zoveel mogelijk de bevoorrading trachtten veilig te stellen. Aangezien de leveringsketens in de weken daarna stand hielden, gingen onze klanten in het tweede kwartaal ertoe over hun voorraden terug te brengen naar de niveaus van voor de crisis. In Lactic Acid & Specialties ondervonden we licht negatieve impact van Covid-19 in markten zoals biopolymeren. Daarnaast lieten andere markten zoals PLA en het elektronicasegment goede groei zien.
