Fjármálaáætlun 2022-2026: Réttar ráðstafanir skiluðu árangri og björtum horfum

Aðgerðir stjórnvalda vegna heimsfaraldurs kórónuveiru hafa skilað miklum árangri og útlitið fram undan er bjartara en gert var ráð fyrir í fyrra. Ráðstöfunartekjur heimilanna jukust árið 2020 og reyndist samdráttur umtalsvert minni en áætlað var. Með aðgerðum stjórnvalda undanfarið ár hefur tekist að milda efnahagskreppuna, en á fjórða þúsund rekstraraðilar og tugþúsundir einstaklinga hafa nýtt fjölbreytt stuðningsúrræði, sem nema tugum milljarða króna.  Spáð er minni efnahagsbata í ár en að á árunum 2022 og 2023 verði hann kraftmeiri og þá drifinn áfram af fjölgun ferðamanna. Fjármálaáætlunin gerir ráð fyrir að afkoma ríkissjóðs fari smám saman batnandi uns jákvæðum frumjöfnuði er náð árið 2025.  Á næstu árum munu skuldir ríkissjóðs aukast en skuldastaðan batnar engu að síður frá síðustu fjármálaáætlun.
