EU godkjenner Joint Venture mellom Canal Digital og Viasat Consumer

EU kommisjonen har i dag godkjent den tidligere annonserte avtalen om å slå sammen Canal Digital, Telenor ASAs DTH-virksomhet med Viasat Consumer, Nordic Entertainment Groups DTH virksomhet og den svenske IPTV virksomheten, i et joint venture-selskap. Telenor Group og Nordic Entertainment Group vil hver eie 50 % av aksjene i det nye selskapet.
Det nye selskapet vil fokusere på satellittdistribuert betal-TV (DTH) og strømmetjenester, samt IPTV på åpne fibernett, og vil fortsette å utvikle ledende TV-tjenester. Joint venture-selskapet forventes å gi årlige kostnadssynergier på cirka 650 millioner svenske kroner, med full effekt fra 2022. Sammenslåingen og andre relaterte kostnader forventes å utgjøre cirka 900 millioner svenske kroner.“Vi er fornøyde med å få godkjenning fra EU-kommisjonen til å fullføre jobben for å skape et nytt og solid, nordisk TV-selskap.
