CNL STRATEGIC CAPITAL ANNOUNCES OPERATING RESULTS FOR YEAR-END 2023
Orlando, Fla., March 28, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — CNL Strategic Capital, LLC (“CNL Strategic Capital,” the “Company” or “we”) seeks to provide current income and long-term appreciation to investors by acquiring controlling equity stakes in combination with loan positions in privately owned middle-market businesses. The Company announced its operating results for the year ended Dec. 31, 2023.
Highlights:
- As of Dec. 31, 2023, CNL Strategic Capital’s portfolio consisted of equity and debt investments in 13 portfolio companies and approximately $1.0 billion in total assets, compared with approximately $732.5 million as of Dec. 31, 2022.
- For the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, the Company recognized a net change in unrealized appreciation on investments of approximately $41.7 million and had total investment income of approximately $59.5 million. That compares with a net change in unrealized appreciation on investments of $41.3 million and total investment income of approximately $47.0 million in 2022.
- The cumulative total investment return based on net asset value (NAV) since inception and through Dec. 31, 2023, was approximately 84.8% for Class FA shares, 71.9% for Class A shares, 62.1% for Class T shares, 63.6% for Class D shares, 73.8% for Class I shares and 56.0% for Class S shares.1 These returns are prior to any applicable sales load and assume shareholders reinvested their distributions.
- For the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, CNL Strategic Capital received approximately $260.0 million in net offering proceeds, including approximately $12.8 million received through the distribution reinvestment plan. Since beginning operations in February 2018 until Dec. 31, 2023, CNL Strategic Capital had raised approximately $909.7 million, including $28.2 million received through the distribution reinvestment plan.
