Infinera Corporation Reports Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year 2020 Financial Results

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 23, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Infinera Corporation (NASDAQ: INFN) today released financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended December 26, 2020.
GAAP revenue for the quarter was $353.5 million compared to $340.2 million in the third quarter of 2020 and $384.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2019.GAAP gross margin for the quarter was 35.7% compared to 31.8% in the third quarter of 2020 and 29.0% in the fourth quarter of 2019. GAAP operating margin for the quarter was (1.9)% compared to (7.9)% in the third quarter of 2020 and (15.8)% in the fourth quarter of 2019.GAAP net loss for the quarter was $(9.9) million, or $(0.05) per share, compared to $(35.9) million, or $(0.19) per share, in the third quarter of 2020, and $(66.6) million, or $(0.37) per share, in the fourth quarter of 2019.Non-GAAP revenue for the quarter was $354.4 million compared to $341.2 million in the third quarter of 2020 and $386.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2019.Non-GAAP gross margin for the quarter was 37.6% compared to 35.2% in the third quarter of 2020 and 35.2% in the fourth quarter of 2019. Non-GAAP operating margin for the quarter was 6.6% compared to 2.2% in the third quarter of 2020 and 2.3% in the fourth quarter of 2019.Non-GAAP net income for the quarter was $26.3 million, or $0.13 per share, compared to a net income of $4.2 million, or $0.02 per share, in the third quarter of 2020, and $6.4 million, or $0.03 per share, in the fourth quarter of 2019.GAAP revenue for the year was $1,355.6 million compared to $1,298.9 million in 2019. GAAP gross margin for the year was 30.2% compared to 25.1% in 2019. GAAP operating margin for the year was (11.4)% compared to (27.0)% in 2019. GAAP net loss for the year was $(206.7) million, or $(1.10) per share, compared to $(386.6) million, or $(2.16) per share, in 2019.Non-GAAP revenue for the year was $1,359.7 million compared to $1,316.6 million in 2019. Non-GAAP gross margin for the year was 33.8% compared to 33.6% in 2019. Non-GAAP operating margin for the year was (0.5)% compared to (6.3)% in 2019.
