Thero, president and chief executive officer of Amarin, has been named EY’s 2019 Entrepreneur of The Year National Award® for Life Sciences. Mr. Thero was named EY’s Entrepreneur of The Year 2019 Award for Life Sciences in the New Jersey Region in June 2019, thus placing him in the running for the national award.

The number of deaths in the United States attributed to cardiovascular disease continues to rise.^1,2 There are 605,000 new and 200,000 recurrent heart attacks per year (approximately 1 every 40 seconds), in the United States.
