Juniata Valley Financial Corp. Announces Second Quarter 2020 Results

Mifflintown, PA, July 23, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —Juniata Valley Financial Corp. (OTC Pink: JUVF) (“Juniata”), announced net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2020 of $1.6 million, compared to net income of $1.8 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2019. Earnings per share, basic and diluted, was $0.31 during the three months ended June 30, 2020 compared to $0.36 during the three months ended June 30, 2019. For the six months ended June 30, 2020, net income was $2.6 million compared to net income of $3.3 million for the six months ended June 30, 2019. Earnings per share, basic and diluted, during the six months ended June 30, 2020 was $0.52 compared to basic and diluted earnings per share of $0.64 during the corresponding 2019 period. The decline in earnings in the 2020 periods was primarily due to a higher provision for loan losses and net interest margin compression, resulting in part from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.President’s Message
