Client Service Manager

As part of our strategy to grow our international business we are now seeking a motivated individual to join the International Institutional Team, covering the UK market. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, the successful candidate will be a self-starter, possess proven institutional asset management client services experience with native level written and spoken English skills. Working in tandem with the Client Director for the UK market, you will provide day to day client service and sales support to a range of UK institutional client and consultants to help grow our UK footprint. The role contributes to our mission at delivering first class client service and being perceived as a top tier institutional asset manager.

Requirements
  • English to native-speaker level as well as good spoken and written German
  • Strong business degree, preferably with IMC qualification or willingness to take this
  • Strong overall investment knowledge of asset management and capital markets
  • Understanding and experience with institutional clients/consultants preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with separate accounts and funds. Expertise with complex operational related issues and the curiosity to continue to learn
  • Strong customer service skills and focus as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with great attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel to the UK as needed

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain exceptional level of client relationship support
  • Coordinate the successful resolution of client enquiries, liaising and utilising expertise from around the business
  • Coordination of transactions and of onboarding of new clients
  • Prepare, support and follow up on sales initiatives  
  • Produce a wide range of professional presentations and pitch documents (RFPs, RFIs) in English
  • Coordinate and provide assistance with marketing events, conference calls and roadshows

Investment Manager Hedge Funds

You will be part of the investment team that is responsible for selecting alternative investments and advising on portfolio construction. Your focus will be on the analysis of hedge fund strategies. With a strong academic background and keen interest for capital markets you will conduct independent investment research in order to recommend hedge funds and allocation strategies for investment.

In doing so, you will be in close contact with our global network of hedge fund managers, service providers, prime brokers and other industry specialists and carry out investment presentations to clients or the investment team as required.

Requirements
  • Degree in economics, finance or business administration with an emphasis on capital markets and quantitative analysis. Additional academic or professional qualifications are a plus (e.g. PhD, CFA)
  • At least three years of relevant working experience (financial services industry or academy)
  • Ability to operate efficiently both on an individual project basis as well as within a team
  • Sharp communication skills and attention to detail
  • Sophisticated data analysis skills are a plus (e.g. statistical analysis with Python/R, Power BI/Tableau, etc.), but not a requirement
  • Fluency in both German and English is a must
Responsibilities
  • Produce investment reports and recommendations on funds, managers and strategies
  • Regularly meet with hedge fund managers to deepen your understanding of strategies and further develop our industry network
  • Travel to conduct due diligence meetings with hedge fund managers and attend industry events
  • Apply quantitative techniques to the analysis and monitoring of hedge fund strategies and portfolios
  • Assist in portfolio construction, analysis, and monitoring
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the firm’s investment processes and analysis toolkit

Senior Investment Professional

This position will be an addition to a six-person analyst team responsible for investing in private placement securities across a variety of credit sectors. The Senior Investment Professional (“SIP”) will be responsible for evaluating and recommending privately placed debt transactions and monitoring portfolio securities. A strong analytical background, solid communication and presentation skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are necessary.

Nationwide’s Private Placement department manages a portfolio of approximately $10.0 billion. The team strives to generate consistent returns that meet our clients’ yield, duration and risk requirements, while building a balanced portfolio that is diversified by sector, rating and geography.

This role can be filled at either an Investment Professional or Senior Investment Professional level depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.

Requirements

A Senior Investment Professional is a highly skilled individual responsible for making complex investment decisions that can significantly impact an organization’s financial health. To qualify for such a role, typically requires a blend of:

1. Education and Certifications:

  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Professional Certifications:
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
    • Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA)
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Series 7 and 63 licenses (for US-based roles)

2. Extensive Experience:

  • Years of Experience: Typically 10+ years of experience in investment management, portfolio management, or a related field.
  • Proven Track Record: A history of successful investment decisions and portfolio performance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and investment strategies.

3. Technical Skills:
