Equipment Trust Certificates (“ETC’s”) are generally issued by corporations that derive most of their value / income from the equipment they own and operate. Most of these companies are Railroads, Airlines, Trucking Companies and Oil & Natural Gas Companies. With these types of companies, the company’s equipment (and sometimes real estate) comprises much of the value of the company. Equipment Trust Certificates are often collateralized by the equipment it owns and operates. Because the value of the equipment secured by the Equipment Trust Certificates, the ETC’s are issued serially so that the amount outstanding decreases each year in line with the depreciating value of the collateral it is secured to. US Stock Market goes up with the Dow and S&P setting up new intraday record high

A print has been released by the Commerce Department about the consumer spending last March, which was a huge boon for a sign of economic recovery. The report tackles increase of sales on food and drink services, clothing and other consumer in demands. Stimulus cheques played a big role on the recorded spending, but the successful vaccine rollout is considered the main reason affecting the mind set of people returning to normalcy. Another market stimulus is the new print of weekly jobless claims which showed a huge drop in numbers, indicating improvement of citizen lifestyle. Federal Reserve members declared that there was an increase in economic activity since February of this year. Major Indices ended up mixed; the Dow gaining back some loses

Despite yesterday’s losses, the Dow Jones Industrial Average managed to gain grounds in today’s session along with small caps amidst erratic rally that resulted in NASDAQ’s and S&P’s retreat. Investors once again shifted from growth stocks to cyclical ones such as financial, mining and steel. There’s also the newly launched Coinbase Global that closed lower than opening price on Wednesday session but managed to slay 5% overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average managed to record an intraday high, gaining 53.62 basis points or 0.16% at market close. NASDAQ Composite stepped back with the major components of it retreating, slipping down by 138.26 basis points or 0.99%. S&P 500 also lost 16.93 basis points or 0.41% on today’s session.
