UPM permanently closes its Chapelle newsprint mill

(UPM, Helsinki, 16.07.2020 at 11:00 EET) – UPM will permanently cease production at its Chapelle newsprint mill in Grand-Couronne, France today. The consultation process with employee representatives was completed on June 15th, 2020 according to French legislation and approved by French authorities on July 15th, 2020.The closure impacts 228 people. UPM offers support to employees in order to alleviate the effects caused by staff reductions in relation to the closing of the mill.With the closure of the mill UPM will reduce a total of  240.000 tonnes of its newsprint paper capacity.UPM recognizes restructuring charges in total of EUR 78 million, whereof EUR 61 million as cash costs. (UPM, Helsinki, 16.7.2020 klo 11:00) – UPM lopettaa tänään pysyvästi tuotannon Chapellen sanomalehtipaperitehtaallaan Grand-Couronnessa Ranskassa. Yhteistoimintaneuvottelut henkilöstön edustajien kanssa päättyivät 15.6.2020. Neuvottelut käytiin Ranskan lakien mukaisesti ja ne saivat Ranskan viranomaishyväksynnän 15.7.2020.Tehtaan sulkeminen vaikuttaa 228 ihmiseen. UPM schließt seine Zeitungspapierfabrik Chapelle

(UPM, Helsinki, 16.07.2020, 11:00 Uhr EET) – UPM wird heute die Produktion in seiner Zeitungspapierfabrik Chapelle in Grand-Couronne, Frankreich, dauerhaft einstellen. Die Verhandlungen mit den Arbeitnehmervertretern wurden am 15. Juni 2020 nach französischer Gesetzgebung abgeschlossen und von den französischen Behörden am 15. Juli gebilligt. Von der Schließung sind 228 Personen betroffen. UPM bietet den Mitarbeitern Unterstützung an, um die Auswirkungen des aus der Werksschließung resultierenden Personalabbaus abzumildern.Mit der Werksschließung reduziert UPM seine Zeitungspapierkapazitäten um insgesamt 240.000 Tonnen.UPM bucht Restrukturierungskosten in Höhe von insgesamt 78 Mio. Bilia reports higher operational earnings for the second quarter compared to last year

Bilia today communicates that the operational earnings for the second quarter 2020 were higher than last year and significantly above market expectation.Bilia’s operational earnings for the second quarter 2020 are expected to amount to around SEK 335 M, compared with SEK 306 M for the second quarter 2019. The improvement was attributable to the Service business in combination with cost focus and utilization of Covid-19 support packages where needed.The operating profit for the second quarter 2020 is expected to amount to around SEK 290 M, compared with SEK 280 M for the second quarter 2019.
